I was doing some continuing medical education questions today about DVT prophylaxis, here is one of them:

“A 63 year old Wall street executive fell and broke his hip while running to get federal bail-out money. He underwent hip fracture surgery last night. He is obese (body mass index = 35) and has high cholesterol, diabetes mellitus type 2, and hypertension. Other than surgery and immobilization, he asks you if he has any additional risk factors for developing a blood clot. Which reply is MOST correct?”
